Aim;
ISEI (Pvt) Ltd aims to create the conditions whereby students and staff
are selected and treated solely on the basis of their merits, abilities and potential, regardless of gender, color, ethnic
or national origin, race, disability, age, social economic background, religious or political beliefs, trade union membership,
family circumstances, sexual orientation or other irrelevant distinction.
The Equal Opportunities Policy seeks to eradicate unfair and discriminatory
practices wherever they occur within ISEI (Pvt) Ltd and to encourage a diverse community in which all individuals may contribute
as fully as possible.
The Policy;
ISEI (Pvt) Ltd recognizes that in order to achieve equality of opportunity,
certain key principles must be adhered to and a plan of action must be developed to ensure the aims are achieved. In particular
ISEI (Pvt) Ltd is committed to ensuring that:
Fair and equitable procedures are operated in relation to the recruitment,
selection, and promotion of staff. Procedures ensure fair and equitable treatment in relation to admission and assessment
of students, teaching, learning and other relevant environments are accessible to all. Monitoring of these procedures is regularly
carried out along with monitoring of the ISEI (Pvt) Ltd workforce.
Equal Opportunities training and guidance is provided for staff at all
levels and existing procedures are reviewed and examined to ensure they are not discriminatory in their operation. A complaints
procedure for resolving complaints of discrimination is developed and communicated to those who may need to use it. Positive
action initiatives are introduced where appropriate.
Language used in official communication reflects the letter and spirit
of this policy.
Serious breaches of this policy are dealt with through the disciplinary
procedures.
Responsibility
The whole of ISEI (Pvt) Ltd has responsibility for the implementation
of the policy, the management, and the board has ultimate responsibility for its effective development and implementation.
Particular groups have responsibility for the formulation of procedures
to support the overall policy and for overseeing their implementation.
The ISEI (Pvt) Ltd aims to provide education of excellent quality at
undergraduate and postgraduate level for able students, whatever their background. In pursuit of this aim, the ISEI (Pvt)
Ltd is committed to using its best endeavors to ensure that all of its activities are governed by principles of equality of
opportunity, and that all students are helped to achieve their full academic potential. This statement applies to recruitment
and admissions, to the curriculum, teaching, and assessment, to welfare and support services, and to staff development and
training.
ISEI (Pvt) Ltd will also avoid, in the fields of employment, education
and provision of goods, facilities, and services and premises the use of ostensibly neutral criteria, which have disproportionate
adverse impact on members of a particular racial group, sex, or marital status, unless such use is objectively justifiable.
Equal Opportunities Support
This policy statement is supported by equal opportunities policies and
codes of practice for staff and students, the collegiate University's code of practice on harassment, and the Institute's
race equality policy.
ISEI (Pvt) Ltd believes that the implementation and monitoring of this
policy is crucial and will put procedures and systems in place to so do. Implementation of this policy will be the responsibility
of Heads of Colleges and Departments; monitoring will be the responsibility of the Equal Opportunities Group reporting to
the Policy and Resources Committee (PARC).
The ISEI (Pvt) Ltd has grievance and complaints procedures for staff
and students, which procedures will apply to any contravention of this policy.
This policy has been circulated to all staff and students.
